Danielle Mahoney-Kertes

Danielle Mahoney-Kertes is an experienced educator and literacy expert with a diverse background in teaching and coaching. Currently serving as Field Staff and Coach at the UFT Teacher Center since August 2019, Danielle has also worked as a Literacy Coach and Yoga and Mindfulness Educator for the NYC Department of Education since September 2009. Prior experiences include roles as a Mindfulness and Yoga Teacher at The Yoga Studio Astoria and a Top Teaching Literacy Advisor at Scholastic, where Danielle contributed to literacy best practices and teacher discussions. Earlier in their career, Danielle taught second grade for nearly a decade and worked as a Purchasing Agent at Sam Ash Music Stores. Danielle holds a Master of Science in Literacy in Education from Long Island University and has additional certifications in mindfulness education.
