Fredrick Okumu has extensive experience in network security and telecommunications engineering, serving as a Network Security Officer at Uganda Industrial Research Institute since January 2000. In this role, Fredrick Okumu functions as an ethical hacker, identifying and mitigating computer security vulnerabilities through advanced penetration testing. Additionally, Fredrick Okumu has developed and executed network infrastructure projects, including a significant $25,000 fiber installation. Concurrently, Fredrick Okumu serves as an Executive Assistant at Pioneer Instrument Limited, where resilience in navigating business challenges has contributed to the success of supplying electronic and electrical equipment. Fredrick Okumu holds a Higher National Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering from Kyambogo University.

Uganda Industrial Research Institute is the Ugandan Government's lead agency for industrialization, established by an Act of Parliament of Uganda under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MoSTI). It is the country's main vehicle for implementing strategies and measures aimed at transforming industry in Uganda. Mandate To undertake applied research and to develop and/or acquire appropriate technology in order to create a strong, effective and competitive industrial sector in Uganda.
