Robert Tillman is currently the Senior Research Director for AI and Machine Learning at Optum Labs, a position held since 2022. Previously, between 2019 and 2021, Robert served as the Research Director at J.P. Morgan, leading research initiatives in AI and machine learning. Prior to that role, they acted as the Head of Quantitative Research at Mu4 Investments LLC from 2014 to 2019, managing a portfolio of medium frequency market neutral trading strategies. Robert holds a Ph.D. in Logic, Computation, and Methodology and an M.S. in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University, where they also completed their undergraduate studies in Mathematics, Philosophy, and Psychology.
