Shona Munday

Shona is an FCA with over 20 years' experience working in both professional practice and within industry. In practice she has worked on a range of clients of varying sizes and in different sectors, from small owner managed businesses, sole traders, charities, and sports associations to fully listed multinational PLCs.

Her experience is primarily audit related, however she also has experience of business recovery, corporate finance projects, outsourcing and recruitment assignments. She works with clients in a number of sectors and specialises in education, charities and NFP’s here at UHY Hacker Young. Shona is a partner in the firm with ‘Responsible Individual’ (RI) status and signs off audits for Academy and Charity clients.

In industry, Shona worked for a university and gained experience not only of the education sector but also of property development projects, VAT, Corporation Tax, Treasury management, purchase ledger, as well as accounts preparation, internal audit and external audit.

Shona also heads up our Barristers sector working with a team of individuals all of whom have knowledge and experience of working on the accounts and tax computations of barristers. She appreciates the challenges faced by barristers and is keen to help all of her clients prosper.

As well as her audit responsibilities and working with Barristers Shona also heads up our Outsourcing team providing cloud accounting and outsourcing services such as bookkeeping, management accounts and payroll to a range of clients both in size and sector across the East of England.

Shona’s unique approach to her clients ensures she understands their needs and is able to make a real difference whether we are providing bookkeeping, accounts, payroll or audit services to them.

When not working with clients Shona is also involved in enhancing the Culture of the UHY Hacker Young East offices and heads up the culture team, which includes talent management, training and wellbeing.
