Zaheer Iqbal

Zaheer Iqbal has a diverse work experience in the finance and insurance industry. Zaheer is currently working as the Head of Finance at United Insurance Brokers Limited since August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Group Chief Financial Officer at SALAMA - Islamic Arab Insurance Co. from May 2020 to June 2022. Before joining SALAMA, Zaheer held the position of Head of Finance at AXA Green Crescent from March 2016 to April 2020. Zaheer also worked as a Senior Manager Finance at Solidarity General Takaful B.S.C. from September 2012 to February 2016. Zaheer's earlier experiences include working as the Chief Financial Officer & Administration Head at Cogent Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers from July 2007 to August 2012, Senior Accountant at Allianz Insurance from September 2004 to June 2007, Assistant Manager Finance at Century Insurance Company Limited from July 2003 to July 2004, Manager Finance & Administration at College of Business Professionals from October 2002 to June 2003, and Audit Supervisor at Ernst & Young from June 1998 to September 2002.

Zaheer Iqbal began their education in 1996 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, where they pursued a degree in Auditing, Financial Management, and Reporting. Zaheer completed their studies at this institution in 2002 and obtained the degree of Fellow Chartered Accountant - FCA. In the same year, they pursued further education at the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants, earning a degree in Fellow Public Finance Accountant - FPFA in the field of Accounting and Finance in 2003.

In 1996, Zaheer also enrolled at the University of Karachi, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce - B.Com. degree in Accounting and Finance until 1997. After a gap in their education, they returned to obtain a Master in Commerce degree from the Higher Education Commission in 2017, specializing in Business/Commerce, General.

Zaheer Iqbal continued their educational pursuits internationally in 2013 at the Institute of Financial Consultants in Canada. Zaheer obtained a Certified Financial Consultant - CFC certification in the field of Accounting and Finance. Subsequently, in 2015, they obtained a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA) certification from The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy in the United Kingdom.

Throughout their educational journey, Zaheer obtained the following additional certifications: Chartered Public Finance Accountant from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting, United Kingdom in April 2015; Fellow Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in August 2013; Certified Financial Consultant from the Institute of Financial Consultants, Canada in February 2013; and Fellow Public Finance Accountant from The Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants in October 2003.
