Irene Hansen

Currently serving as a Duchesne County Commissioner in Northeastern Utah, Irene is only the second woman commissioner in the county’s 100-year history.

Prior to becoming commissioner, Irene served as the Executive Director of the Duchesne County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Office located in Roosevelt. Irene has served in that position for over 20 years working on projects throughout Utah.

Irene loves the entrepreneurial spirit and works tirelessly on projects that bring investment and new business opportunities to the communities of the Uintah Basin…. Duchesne County has been a leader in new business start-ups and successful business expansions.

Irene has worked on legislative issues and has served on many boards and commissions for various Utah Governors.

Irene loves the people of Utah and realizes the impact the energy producing counties have on the well-being of Utah, and is a tireless champion of responsible energy production. Irene loves to tell the story of Northeastern Utah highlighting the determination, work ethic and great leadership she is proud to be a part of.

Irene Hansen has been recognized by The World Trade Center, SBA as the Small Business Advocate of the Year and the prestigious SUU Rural Honors Award from the Centers for Rural Life.

Irene credits great city and county leadership and their support for her success as well as her wonderful family who join her at dozens of her events and activities throughout the Uintah Basin.
