Carmela Canonico is an experienced professional in public transport security and project management. Currently serving as the Safety and Security Manager at UITP since November 2021, Carmela leads the Security Committee and manages EU projects focused on enhancing public transport security. Prior to UITP, Carmela worked as a Manager at ERTICO - ITS Europe from December 2017 to October 2021, where responsibilities included stakeholder management, policy monitoring, and facilitating discussions among various stakeholders. Carmela's earlier experience as a Consultant at INNOVA S.r.l. involved R&D and EU project management. Academically, Carmela holds a Postgraduate Certificate in EU Policy-Making from the Institute for European Studies, VUB, and a Master's Degree in Innovation Management from Università della Calabria.
