Annie MacIver

Annie MacIver is a seasoned leader in policy and education, currently serving as the Head of Strategy, Projects and School Technology at the Department for Education since April 2021. Previously, Annie held the position of Head of Policy & Engagement at the Cities and Local Growth Unit, where leadership of twelve staff guided the development of central policy to better align with local needs. As Head of Policy for the Race Disparity Unit at the Cabinet Office, Annie spearheaded initiatives aimed at addressing issues identified by the Race Disparity Audit. With experience as Business Development Manager at Year Here, and as a Fast Streamer in the Civil Service, Annie's career began as a Maths Teacher through Teach First, aiming to reduce educational disadvantage. Annie holds a Master's degree in Leadership and a PGCE in Maths from the UCL Institute of Education, alongside a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Oxford.
