UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT)
Ian Maclean MBE is the Managing Director of John Smedley Ltd, a renowned British knitwear manufacturer established in 1784. Maclean has been pivotal in maintaining the brand's legacy and has earned multiple Royal Warrants, including one from Ian's Majesty The King and another from Ian's Late Majesty The Queen. In addition to leading John Smedley, Maclean holds several prominent roles, including President of the Sandringham Association of Royal Warrant Holders and Chairman of the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, which supports craft excellence in the UK. Maclean is also a director and treasurer for the UK Fashion and Textile Association and has served on the advisory board for the University of the Arts London's Fashion Business School. An alumnus of the University of Cambridge and The Open University, Maclean's contributions to the textiles industry have been recognized with an MBE for services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
