Gillian Charlesworth

Gillian Charlesworth is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in regulatory and corporate affairs across various sectors. Currently serving as the Chair of Invoice Finance/Asset Based Lending Professional Standards Council at UK Finance since January 2022, Gillian previously held the position of Group CEO at BRE until September 2025. From January 2004 to May 2019, Gillian was the Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs at RICS, where key contributions included the regulation of the chartered surveyor profession and corporate affairs strategy. Earlier roles within RICS included Director of Corporate Affairs, Director of External Affairs, and Director of Regulation Policy, focusing on public policy and regulatory development affecting property professionals. Prior experience includes serving as Head of Commercial and European Affairs at the Wine and Spirit Trade Association and as Assistant Director of Practice Regulation at ICAEW. Gillian holds a BA in French and Russian from Durham University.
