Karina Hutchins

Karina Hutchins is a seasoned professional in the mortgage sector, currently serving as Principal of Mortgage Policy at UK Finance since November 2023. Prior experience includes leading as Head of Mortgages at OpenMoney from September 2020 to September 2023 and acting as a Senior Mortgage & Protection Adviser at firstmortgage.co.uk from May 2016 to August 2020. Earlier roles include Mortgage Consultant and General Insurance Adviser at Edward Mellor Ltd from February 2012 to April 2016, along with a Graduate Internship at Charities Advisory Trust in late 2011. Karina holds a BA(Hons) in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from The University of Manchester and has pursued advanced qualifications in mortgage advice from the Chartered Insurance Institute. Additionally, Karina has a background in music, with studies in violin through ABRSM.
