Brandy Mathews

Chief Nursing Officer at UK HealthCare

Brandy Mathews serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at UK HealthCare since May 2021 and is currently the President of the Kentucky Organization of Nurse Leaders for the term from January 2024 to January 2025. Mathews holds board member positions at both the AONL Foundation and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership from December 2021 to December 2023. Prior to current roles, Mathews was the Assistant Chief Nurse Executive at the University of Kentucky HealthCare from July 2015 to May 2021, overseeing administrative responsibilities for various services and managing nursing practices in both community hospitals and an academic medical center. Earlier experience includes the role of Administrator of Capacity Management at UK HealthCare, where Mathews directed a multi-site department focused on patient flow for a hospital system with nearly 700 beds. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, two Master's degrees in Health/Health Care Administration/Management and Nursing Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science, all obtained from the University of Kentucky.
