Daniel L. has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Daniel started their career as an IT Cyber Security Intern at Caterpillar Inc. in 2016. Later, they worked as a Cyber Security Intern at ProCircular in 2017. In 2018, they interned as an Incident & Threat Management Intern at PwC, and also worked as a Security Analyst at Iowa State University, where they were involved in directing Cyber Defense Competitions and developing vulnerable applications for students.
In 2019, Daniel joined PwC as an Offensive Cyber Operator and Penetration Tester. Daniel then moved on to work at RangeForce in 2020, initially as a Product Engineer and later as a Research Development Software Engineer. At RangeForce, they focused on building threat scenarios for testing blue teams and automating the deployment of sandboxes and virtual networks.
Daniel also has experience in creating and supporting a cloud-based software service called Relatrace, which is designed for public safety teams. Additionally, they served as a Firefighter/EMT-B and Probationary On-Call Firefighter at the Hopkins Fire Department.
Most recently, in 2023, Daniel joined Ultimate Knowledge Institute as a Senior Cybersecurity Product Engineer.
Daniel L. received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including being an Emergency Medical Technician, Basic (EMT-B) from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in August 2022. Daniel also holds the Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE) certification from Offensive Security, which they obtained in June 2020, and the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification, which they obtained in August 2019.
