Akshita Iyer

Akshita Iyer is an accomplished entrepreneur and expert in appliance safety and innovative technology. As the Founder & CEO of Ome since 2017, Akshita has developed the Ome Smart Knob, a groundbreaking retrofit device that enhances stove safety through automation. Akshita also serves as a Technical Committee Member for UL Standards & Engagement, contributing to the development of safety standards for household appliances. In addition, involvement with AgeTech Atlanta showcases a commitment to improving the experience of aging, while participation in the Techstars program and work with BSH Home Appliances as an accelerator startup highlight Akshita's dedication to innovation in the tech industry. Previous experience includes program management at Duke University Health System and work as a teaching assistant in neuroscience. Akshita holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience & Consumer Behavior from Duke University.
