Hanjun Wei

Hanjun Wei is an Associate Data Scientist at UL Standards & Engagement since August 2023, previously serving as a Data Science Intern at UL Solutions where significant work was done in topic extraction and market analysis. Hanjun's experience includes extracting hierarchical topics from consumer product incident reports, analyzing these topics over time, and conducting structural fire analysis to support lobbying efforts in Latin America. Earlier, Hanjun worked as a Financial Mathematics Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, providing support and feedback to students, and as an Actuarial Intern at China Taiping Insurance Holdings Co Ltd, where SQL queries were coded to analyze insurance claims data. Hanjun holds a Master of Library & Information Science with a focus on Data Science from Brown University and an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
