Alan K. Akers, MSLIS, CA, is a certified archivist and special collections librarian with nearly 10 years of experience and a passion for American history, heritage brands, and digital archives. Currently, Alan serves as the Head of Archives for UL Standards & Engagement, UL Solutions, and UL Research Institutes, overseeing all aspects of the archives and leading digital preservation initiatives. Alan previously held positions at Vernon Area Public Library District, Northwestern University, and Naper Settlement, where they developed collection management strategies and digitization programs. Alan earned a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master's Degree in Music History from Northwestern University.
