Angela C. Williams

Angela C. Williams is the SVP and Chief Information Security Officer at UL. Prior to this, they were the Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer at Hillrom from January 2021 to December 2022. Angela was globally accountable for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, privacy, and availability of Hillrom’s vast information assets across the enterprise. Angela established and steered Hillrom’s enterprise-wide information risk management and security strategy and championed the build out of an integrated risk culture, driving effective operation of technical and administrative controls.

At Hillrom, they restructured the security department to clarify roles/responsibilities and align them with appropriate resources to minimize redundancies and improve the quality of service provided to key business stakeholders. Angela also aligned with enterprise business strategy and gained executive approval to support/oversee successful execution. Angela partnered with R&D organization on product security efforts and enterprise-wide alignment on NIST, ISO, and HITRUST to develop broader security roadmap and ensure effective implementation and management of security controls within R&D environment as well as within company’s devices and software technology. Angela assisted R&D department in annual renewal of Cyber Essentials Plus Certification.

Angela collaborated with executive business leadership to identify information and cybersecurity risks, assess threats and vulnerabilities, and develop treatment plans. Angela governed, managed, and monitored security controls framework to protect information assets and digital technology systems and effectively mitigate significant risks. Angela presented to Audit Committee, covering cybersecurity preparedness and posture, the evolving threat landscape, and information security risk treatment and mitigation.

They are on a team with Erik Palm - SVP, Corporate Finance, Dominic Dannessa - VP, Operational Excellence and Innovation, and Robert Slone - SVP, Chief Scientist. Their manager is Jennifer Scanlon, President & CEO.
