John Doty is currently a Senior Solar Engineer at UL, where they perform independent engineering reviews and provide technical advisory and due diligence services for photovoltaic system portfolios. They previously owned Doty Engineering from 2000 to 2016, serving as a Master Trainer for the NY-Sun PV Trainers Network and the Solar Ready Vets program, and providing essential training and system reviews in solar energy. Earlier in their career, John held project engineer positions at Morningstar Corporation, Integrated Automation Solutions, and AWS Truepower, LLC, where they developed critical technologies and managed renewable energy projects. John earned their degree from Union College between 1986 and 1989.
