Thomas Fakler, PE has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Thomas first started their career at the North Dakota Department of Transportation as a Student Design Assistant, where they gained experience in plan development and calculations using Bentley Geopak and Microstation V8i.

Afterward, Thomas joined the Army National Guard and served in multiple positions, including Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, and Assistant Operations Officer. In these roles, they were responsible for the training, morale, and welfare of soldiers, as well as coordinating operations and managing information traffic.

Returning to the civilian sector, Thomas joined Ulteig as a Graduate Engineer, where they worked on routing engineering tasks, construction engineering/inspections, and project design in the Transportation and Power Distribution Services Sector. Thomas later advanced to the position of Design Engineer, where they continued to contribute to the development and management of transportation and power distribution projects. Most recently, they hold the role of Technical Manager - Transportation at Ulteig, overseeing the growth and development of a transportation design, traffic, and planning team.

Throughout their career, Thomas has demonstrated strong technical skills and expertise in areas such as construction engineering/inspections, project management, roadway design, safety phasing plans, contract administration, and permit acquisition/coordination. Thomas has also been involved in environmental considerations, stormwater management, and NEPA documentation.

Thomas Fakler, PE completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering at North Dakota State University from 2008 to 2013.

In terms of certifications, they obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers in April 2018. Additionally, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID in November 2019.
