David Kopka

David Kopka has worked in the manufacturing industry since 1989. David began their career at Vac Met, Inc. as the Quality Control/Metallurgical Lab Manager. In 1997, they moved to Ultimate Hydroforming, Inc. as a Metallurgist/Heat Treat Manager, where they were responsible for the implementation and installation of the heat treat/brazing department. David also wrote and implemented quality procedures for the operation and support of the heat treat department. In 1999, they joined Chrysler as the Supervisor, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, where they managed a staff of 8 engineers working on various projects for transmissions, engines and axles. David also supervised the purchase, equipment build and qualification of 5 laser welders, three pusher carburizing furnace lines, and miscellaneous support equipment. In 2009, they returned to Ultimate Hydroforming, Inc. as the Plant Manager, where they were responsible for overseeing the daily operations for over 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space with over 100 employees. David also served as a Special Process Engineer/Metallurgist, developing priority nickel diffusion brazing process for the hot heater head section of a solar engine, and developing manufacturing process to produce parts for both aerospace and military customers.

David Kopka attended Western Michigan University from 1984 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy.
