Ricky Sun

Ricky Sun has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ricky is currently the Founder and CEO of Ultipa, a Silicon Valley-based real-time graph XAI & database company that focuses on empowering smart enterprises with graph augmented intelligence. Prior to Ultipa, Ricky worked as a Director at the Linked Data Benchmark Council, where they contributed to key metrics and specifications of industrial benchmarks, particularly financial benchmarks for graph databases, and worked on the international standard of GQL (Graph Query Language).

Before that, Ricky was the Founder and CEO of Allhistory.com at Perfect World Co., Ltd., where they played a major role in establishing and leading the company. Ricky also worked as the Managing Director of Dell EMC, overseeing various responsibilities such as general management of EMC Labs China, leading overall CTO Advanced R&D and operations, and driving growth and innovation strategies.

Ricky's work experience also includes roles at Microsoft, Splashtop Inc., Yahoo, Westleader Technologies, and IP Dynamics. At Microsoft, they served as a Sr. PM Lead and contributed to the go-to-market strategy and roadmap for Windows Phone and Win8/WinRT devices. At Splashtop Inc., they worked as the Director of Engineering and Sr. Architect, leading teams in developing a fast-boot OS and mobile Internet apps. At Yahoo, Ricky worked as an Architect and PM for the Strategic Data Solution Group, where they played a core role in the development of Yahoo's Big-Data Analytics and the optimization of performance for Yahoo's Front-page Ads BI project. Additionally, they co-founded WL Technologies at Westleader Technologies and worked as a Backend Developer, focusing on providing wireless network management solutions. Ricky began their career at IP Dynamics as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented the company's first p2p network security product.

Throughout their career, Ricky Sun has consistently demonstrated their expertise in technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles across various industries.

Ricky Sun has a strong educational background in computer science and technology. Ricky obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, Ricky pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University. Ricky attended Santa Clara University from 1997 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Ricky Sun has also demonstrated their expertise by successfully obtaining a certification as an AWS Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2019.
