Akbar Hassan Syed

Akbar Hassan Syed has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting at Philips in 2000, they worked as a Global Product & System Architect, contributing to the company's divisions in electronics, healthcare, and lighting. In 2008, they joined Flextronics as a Director, where they repositioned the company to address competition from Korean companies and developed strategies to increase profitability. Akbar Hassan also spearheaded the development of mobile devices and connected home products, establishing a start-up team in Singapore and streamlining processes for faster product cycles.

In 2015, Akbar Hassan Syed joined SATS Ltd., a ground-handling and catering service provider at Changi Airport. Akbar Hassan held multiple roles within the company, including AVP Strategic Development and Operational Excellence, AVP Food Solutions Investment Support, and Head of Cargo Technology Operations. In these roles, they led strategic initiatives, managed project timelines, developed SOPs, and implemented technology solutions to improve productivity, operations performance, and customer management.

Most recently, in 2021, Akbar Hassan Syed joined Ultra Clean Technology as the Senior Director of Operations Strategy & Partnerships and Chief of Staff for the COO.

Akbar Hassan Syed completed their education in a chronological order. Akbar Hassan started by earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronic Engineering from Sir Syed University from 1996 to 1999. Later, they pursued a master's degree, earning an MSc in Communication Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore between 2001 and 2003. Finally, they enrolled at the University at Buffalo School of Management, The State University of New York from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in Strategic Management. In addition to their academic qualifications, Akbar also obtained a certification in Training for Industrial and Development Engineers from Philips Electronics.
