Jim Villagran

Jim Villagran, MSc., MBA, is an experienced professional in project management and CMC within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as Director of Program Management for the CMC Gene Therapy Platform at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc., Jim has held various leadership roles including Director of Project Management at Exelixis and Associate Director at Gilead Sciences, where responsibilities included overseeing commercial API manufacturing and managing late-stage CMC development programs. Jim's extensive background encompasses project management consulting for regulatory initiatives, as well as managing complex pharmaceutical development programs, and includes significant experience in regulatory submissions. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Global Leadership, an MBA in Management & Finance, and a Master of Science in Chemistry & Biochemistry, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
