Charles Bullock is the executive vice chancellor of academic affairs and provost for Brandman University, a non-profit institution and a member of the Chapman University System. Charles joined Brandman in 2008 during the transformation from University College of Chapman University to a separately accredited university. Brandman serves 12,000 students online and on 26 campuses in California and Washington. During this period of transformation, Brandman University has been recognized as a national leader in the evolution of online credit hour and direct assessment (competency-based) programs. The Brandman baccalaureate program was ranked #8 nationally by US News & World Report in 2013, its’ dual advising model has been recognized by the DOE as a best practice, and its’ curriculum design, assessment model and adoption of the DQP have been recognized by WSCUC and AAC&U. Brandman University was recently recognized by the Clayton Christensen Institute as one of a handful of disruptive innovators in higher education.
Prior to 2008, Charles served for 12 years as the Dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Houston – Victoria (UHV). During his leadership, UHV was recognized as a national leader in the delivery of online business programs. His school earned numerous awards and recognitions including being ranked #2 nationally in the 2007 edition of Princeton Review’s Best 282 Business Schools among business schools offering the greatest opportunity for minority students; and recognition by Fortune Small Business (September 2007) as one of America’s Best Colleges for Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
Bullock holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Sam Houston State University. He received a J.D. from Texas Tech University and an LL.M in Taxation from the University of Denver.
