Senator James I. Manning Jr. has extensive experience in leadership and education, serving as Past President Board Member of the Eugene Police Foundation since 2016 and as an Adjunct Professor at Brandman University since 2013, where professional instruction is provided in Organizational Leadership. As President and Secretary of the Oregon Black Education Foundation, Manning focuses on promoting equity and creating educational opportunities for diverse communities. Previous roles include Past Chair of the Oregon Commission on Black Affairs and Commissioner for the Eugene Water & Electric Board. Manning has a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis on Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University and has held various leadership positions aimed at fostering community engagement and social justice.
