Francesca Pinzone

Francesca Pinzone has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Francesca is currently a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Umbo, a social enterprise that offers online therapy to children in rural areas. In this role, they are responsible for managing the operational and engagement aspects of the business.

Prior to Umbo, Francesca worked as a Senior Project Officer at UNSW and the Centre for Social Impact. Their responsibilities included facilitating social change and teaching critical and systems thinking to students.

Francesca also served as a Collective Impact Project Manager at The Centre for Social Impact from 2013 to 2014, where they managed various projects related to social impact.

Earlier in their career, they worked as the National Services Manager at CanTeen - The Australian Organisation for Young People living with Cancer. In this role, they oversaw the development of multiple services and resources for young people living with cancer and implemented Australia's first youth-specific online service.

Francesca has also worked with international organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières and UNICEF. In their role with UNICEF, they served as a Consultant for vaccination and nutrition programs in Delhi, providing analysis and commentary on policy and practice related to children.

Francesca Pinzone's education history includes a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact from UNSW, obtained from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in International Public Health/International Health at the University of Sydney in 2004. Francesca also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Technology Sydney, which they obtained from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their academic qualifications, Francesca has obtained several certifications. In March 2022, they completed the Women in Leadership program at the AGSM @ UNSW Business School. In November 2019, they completed the Harnessing Innovation for Growth program and the Governance for Social Impact program, both at the AGSM @ UNSW Business School and The Centre for Social Impact, respectively.
