Sarah Garvey

Sarah Garvey, Ph.D., serves as the Program Manager at the Global Nitrogen Innovation Center for Clean Energy and the Environment (NICCEE) and as an Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, both positions held since March 2024. Previously, Sarah was a Graduate Research Fellow at Boston University, where research focused on urban biogeochemistry, specifically the impacts of urbanization and forest fragmentation on carbon dynamics. Additionally, Sarah managed the Campus Climate Lab at Boston University, overseeing student-led sustainability projects and coordinating significant funding efforts. Sarah's earlier experience includes various roles in research and climate resilience, spanning organizations such as the Massachusetts Audubon Society and the MacArthur Agro-ecology Research Center. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Urban Biogeochemistry from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
