Barry Sugarman

Barry Sugarman serves as the Vice President of Learning Platforms at the University of Maryland Global Campus since July 2025. Prior to this role, Barry held the same title at AccelerEd, where responsibilities included overseeing learning platforms and curriculum design from December 2021 to July 2025. Barry's extensive experience in higher education includes key leadership positions at Walden University, where roles included Vice Provost and Dean of Learning Pathways, and various vice presidential roles at Laureate Education, Divine Mercy University, and other institutions. Barry holds a Ph.D. in Education from Columbia University, an Ed.M. in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College, an MBA in Marketing from Pace University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
