Marie-Claude Quentin has over 20 years of experience in the food industry. Marie-Claude began their career in 2000 as a Food Technologist at New England Seafood, where they also served as Technical Manager for six years. In 2006, they moved to Southern Salads Ltd as Technical Manager, where they managed the QC, QA and hygiene team and the on-site accredited laboratory. Marie-Claude was nominated for a customer focus award at the KFC annual supplier conference. In 2007, they joined Tesco PLC as Category Technical Manager for Packaging and Food Asia Sourcing, and then as Technical Manager for Tesco Central Europe Chilled food and Ambient Groceries. In 2017, they joined The Consumer Goods Forum as Senior Technical Manager for SSCI and GFSI. In this role, they coordinated updates to the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements through the management of working groups of industry and academic experts, and the transition of all GFSI-recognised certification standards to these new versions. Marie-Claude also established an independent science and technology group to support GFSI and ensure science-based decision making, and managed a structuring project around the recognition of the profession of auditors. Marie-Claude represented members in ISO/CASCO, IAF and ILSI working groups and task forces, and monitored the evolution of international food safety regulation and Codex Alimentarius guidelines. Marie-Claude is currently Technical Manager at Umiami, a position they have held since 2022.
