Fernanda Pires

Fernanda Pires is an accomplished public relations professional with extensive experience in media and communications. Currently serving as Lead PR for International at University of Michigan News since July 2023, Pires also holds the position of Senior PR Representative for International Affairs at the University of Michigan since October 2012. Previous roles include producing and editing freelance projects, interning at WXYZ – Channel 7 in Detroit, and working as a newscast reporter and producer for TV Globo in Brazil. Pires began a career in journalism as a newswriter for Correio Popular Newspaper and progressed through public relations positions at Brahma Brewing Company and Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial - SENAC. Pires holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho.
