Jay Pension

Jay Pension currently serves as an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Leadership and Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance, focusing on arts engagement and creative partnerships. As a freelance producer for Reagle Music Theatre, Jay has been involved in summer season productions since February 2023. Prior experience includes six years at Florida State University as a Theatre and Arts Administration Instructor, where courses covered various aspects of theatre and arts management. Jay also held roles such as Associate Director of Patron Services managing a significant budget at the Fine Arts Ticket Office and Facilities Coordinator at Cleary University. Extensive background in production includes positions at Boston Children's Theatre, Stage 284, and Off-Broadway Productions. Jay holds a PhD in Art Education from Florida State University, an MFA in Theatre, and a BFA in Theatre Performance from Salem State University.
