Jonathan Palisoc

Health Economist

Jonathan Palisoc is a Health Economist with diverse experience in both academia and health policy. Currently, Jonathan serves as a Health Economist at the University of Michigan, focusing on Medicaid and research around social policy. Jonathan also works as a Lecturer at Oakland University, teaching a graduate course in Health Policy and Management. Previous roles include consulting on Medicaid 1115 waiver programs and analyzing medical debt as a Summer Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation. Jonathan's experience extends to a PhD internship with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where responsibilities included drafting evaluations and special terms for state Medicaid waivers. Jonathan's past positions also encompass roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, and the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems. Jonathan holds a PhD in Health Policy & Economics from the University of Michigan, a Master of Public Policy from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
