Michael Wellman serves as a Professor at the University of Michigan since September 1992. Prior experience includes a role as Chief Market Technologist at TradingDynamics, Inc. from September 1998 to January 2000, where Michael designed configurable auction technology for B2B marketplaces before the company was acquired by Ariba. Michael also worked as a consultant for Ariba in 2000 and served as a Captain and research scientist at the US Air Force's Wright Laboratory from August 1988 to July 1992. Academically, Michael earned a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and an SB in Computer Science and Management Science, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing degrees between 1979 and 1988.
