Peter Higgins

Peter Higgins serves as the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program at the University of Michigan, where responsibilities include overseeing clinical and research programs related to IBD, managing the IBD biobank, mentoring junior faculty, and enhancing quality in patient care and education. In addition to this role, Peter holds the position of Endowed Chair Timothy T. Nostrant Professor at the University of Michigan Health System and has progressed through academic ranks from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and Lecturer, all while contributing as a physician scientist. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis from the University of Michigan and an MD from Duke University, alongside dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Duke University.
