Peter Polverini

Dr. Peter Polverini is the Jonathan Taft Distinguished University Professor of Dentistry and dean emeritus at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where they currently serve as a Professor of Pathology at the University of Michigan Medical School. They earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a DDS from Marquette University and completed specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where they also obtained a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree. Dr. Polverini has had a distinguished career in vascular and cancer biology and is regarded as an influential mentor and administrator in dental education. They are a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, among other accolades.
