Scott McClellan is a seasoned molecular microbiologist and technical specialist with extensive experience in research and development of molecular-based assays for infectious disease diagnosis and management. Currently employed at the University of Michigan since November 2011, McClellan has successfully validated and implemented new assays in clinical laboratories. From August 2013 to December 2023, McClellan served as an instructor for clinical virology and immunology courses at the University of Toledo's Medical Laboratory Science program. Previous roles include medical technologist positions at Promedica Bay Park Community Hospital and Mercy Health Partners, as well as molecular client consultant roles at BD-GeneOhm and Cepheid. McClellan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with a focus on Molecular Biology from Bowling Green State University, completed in 1989.
