Simran Kaur

Graduate Student Research Assistant

Simran Kaur is currently a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, focusing on experimental astrophysics and cosmology since August 2022. In addition to this role, Simran serves as a Graduate Student Instructor for the Erdős Institute's Data Science Bootcamp, applying data science and machine learning to the discovery of metal-organic frameworks for advanced batteries. Simran is also a Visiting PhD Student at the University of Zurich and contributes as a Graduate Mentor for the RENEW-Midwest Program. Previous experience includes a role as a Project Fellow at Panjab University, where software validation for the Electron-Ion Collider was conducted, and positions as a Solution Writing Expert and Master's Project researcher. Simran's educational background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan, a Certificate in Quantum Computing from The Coding School, and both an MSc and BSc in Physics from Panjab University and Guru Nanak Dev University, respectively.
