Tim Bruns

Tim Bruns is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, where they have been since 2013. They achieved tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in September 2019 and are a core faculty member of the Biointerfaces Institute, as well as a faculty affiliate of the Neurosciences Graduate Program. Tim's research group, the Peripheral Neural Engineering and Urodynamics Lab, focuses on developing neural interfaces that restore function and examining systems-level neurophysiology. Their collaborations span multiple disciplines, including urology and neurosurgery, aimed at improving pelvic organ function and advancing neuroprosthesis technology. Tim's academic journey includes a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University and postdoctoral work at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
