Varun Goyal is a graduate student research assistant at the University of Michigan since August 2020, focusing on developing mechanistic mathematical models for the ear's biological transducers to improve cochlear implants. Varun has taught over 100 undergraduate students in dynamics and vibrations as a graduate student instructor. Prior experience includes designing an acoustic fiber for precise temperature sensing as a master's student at the Centre of Non-destructive Evaluation and conducting research at RWTH Aachen University, where Varun demonstrated the benefits of butene-based fuel mixtures in emission reductions. Varun has held multiple internships, including analyzing mechanical properties at Plasma Giken Co., Pvt. Ltd. in Japan, and contributing to web development and event management roles at E-Cell IIT Madras.
