Bart Smets

Bart Smets possesses extensive experience in risk management and insurance, currently serving as Head of Insurance & Risk at Umicore since May 2017. Prior to this, Bart held the position of Global Risk and Insurance Manager at Eurofins Scientific Services from September 2012 to May 2017. Other significant roles include Deputy Director of Business Development at Vanbreda Risk & Benefits and Network Country Manager at Gras Savoye Belgium, where Bart also took on additional responsibilities as Adjunct Directeur and Business Development Manager. Bart's career began at AFIDIF as an Account Manager from 1996 to 1999. Bart holds a Master's degree in Law from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a Postgraduate degree in Insurance from KU Leuven.
