Dessein

Kristof Dessein is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in innovation, technical management, and operations within the semiconductor and materials science sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Innovation at Umicore since February 2001, Kristof Dessein leads the development of long-term projects across various business lines, utilizing a Stage-Gate approach. Previous roles include Global Technical Director overseeing Ge substrate development teams globally, as well as managing production and research operations at the Olen plant. Kristof Dessein has a strong academic background with multiple degrees in materials science and engineering from prestigious institutions, including KU Leuven and Ghent University, along with a PhD from Imec where research focused on spin-valve transistors.
