In January 1989, Jan joined Umicore, advancing through various roles such as customs broker, VAT manager, and ultimately serving as Customs and Trade Compliance expert until retirement. Jan has a Post HBO degree in Manager Customs & Trade Affairs from EVO Hogeschool, complemented by education at Sint Jan Berchmans College Antwerpen and the International Business Institute.
