Jarkko Vähäkangas

Jarkko Vähäkangas is an accomplished European Patent Attorney currently employed at Berggren since January 2025. Previously, Vähäkangas served as a Senior Patent Liaison Manager and IP Manager at Umicore from September 2022 and held the position of Patent Attorney at Berggren from August 2018 to September 2022, where responsibilities included drafting and prosecuting patent applications across various technical fields and providing clients with patentability assessments. Prior experiences include roles as a Patent Agent and Specialist in imaging systems at Senop Oy, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu focusing on magnetic properties of carbon nanomaterials, and various positions in process control and laboratory analysis. Vähäkangas holds a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Physical Chemistry, both from the University of Oulu.
