Sarah Dickerson

Sarah Dickerson, PhD has a diverse work experience in various scientific and research roles. Sarah currently works as the Principal Scientist and Head of Process Analytics at Umoja Biopharma, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Scientist and Analytical Development Lead at Umoja Biopharma from November 2020 to December 2022.

Before joining Umoja Biopharma, Sarah worked at Horizon Discovery from June 2018 to November 2020. Here, they served as an R&D Scientist and Project Manager, where they led projects to develop new CRISPR products and supported existing product portfolios.

Sarah also has experience as a Medical Writer at PhiMed Communications, LLC, where they developed training content and created various scientific documents in therapeutic areas such as infectious disease, gastrointestinal disease, oncology, and virology.

Additionally, Sarah served as a Graduate Researcher and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2011 to 2017. Sarah was also a Scientific Consultant at ANN TONEY, P.C., where they provided expertise by reviewing literature and translating scientific findings for a non-scientific audience.

Furthermore, Sarah worked as a Clinical Technologist at National Jewish Health from December 2009 to January 2011 and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital from October 2006 to May 2008.

Sarah started their career as a Physics Teaching Assistant at The University of Memphis from January 2006 to December 2006, where they instructed undergraduate students during experiments and assisted them with questions regarding lab and lecture material.

Sarah Dickerson, PhD completed their education in a chronological manner. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from The University of Memphis in 2008. Before that, in 2004, they studied Spanish Language and Literature at New York University. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they completed in 2017. Furthermore, Sarah obtained the Accelerate Leadership Academy certification from Bain & Company in 2023.
