Ian Ponce

Ian Ponce has over two decades of professional experience in various roles contributing to climate action and education. Since March 2005, Ian has held multiple positions at the UNFCCC, including Programme Officer for Global Climate Action, Office of the Executive Secretary, and Sustainable Development Mechanisms, along with serving as an Information Systems Project Officer and Associate Programme Officer. Prior to this, Ian worked as an ICT Associate at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training from March 2003 to March 2005, and as a Research Associate at the National Centre for Workforce Development for a brief period in 2002. Ian began a career in technology as a Junior Software Designer at Nortel Networks between May 1999 and September 2000. Educationally, Ian earned a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba, completing studies from 1995 to 2002.
