Ruta Bubniene

Ruta Bubniene is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate change initiatives, currently serving as the Team Lead Manager in the Transparency Division at UNFCCC since August 2016. In this role, Ruta is responsible for establishing and implementing global measurement, reporting, and verification systems for climate change, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and agile management of resources. Prior to this position, Ruta held the role of Programme Officer at UNFCCC from December 2006 to July 2016. Ruta's academic credentials include a PhD in Environmental Economics from Vilniaus Universitetas, obtained between 2002 and 2006, alongside a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas. Additionally, Ruta completed a Master’s Degree in the European Post Graduated Course in Environmental Management at the University of Amsterdam.
