Alberto Pacheco Capella has extensive experience in environmental management and international relations, currently serving as the Representative (a.i.) for Brasil and Head of the Sub-Regional Office for the Southern Cone of Latin America at the UN Environment Programme since June 2006. Previous roles include Special Assistant to the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director and Regional Coordinator for Ecosystem Management in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to this, Alberto worked as a Project Manager at the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative and as a Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Early career experience includes serving as a Relationship Manager at Standard Chartered Bank. Educational credentials encompass a Certificate in Business and International Relations from The London School of Economics, a program in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from Lund University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Administrative Science from Universidad Metropolitana.
