Kavita Sharma

Kavita Sharma serves as a Task Manager at the UN Environment Programme since March 2023, overseeing the GEF portfolio focused on biodiversity and land degradation in Asia. Prior to this role, Kavita contributed to the Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) from November 2012 to September 2018, supporting natural capital accounting and ecosystem service valuation in China, India, and South Africa, co-developing the TEEBAgriFood framework, and assisting governments in Bhutan, Philippines, and Tanzania. Earlier experience includes working as a Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers India from July 2008 to July 2010, where Kavita focused on government process re-engineering for services in Ethiopia, Ras Al Khaimah, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Kavita holds a Doctor of Sciences from ETH Zürich, a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Yale School of the Environment, a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from Saint Vincent College.
