Leticia Carvalho serves as the Senior Principle Coordinator and Head of the Marine and Freshwater Branch at the UN Environment Programme since February 2020, focusing on global sustainability, particularly in the contexts of healthy oceans and improved water systems. Previously, Leticia held the position of Special Advisor and Chief of Staff at the SEMA-DF Secretariat of Environmental Affairs, where strategic policy advising was a central duty. Leticia's extensive career includes significant roles at the Ministry of the Environment of Brazil, culminating as the Director of Program for Environmental Quality at Industry, where strategic oversight and international collaboration were pivotal responsibilities. Leticia holds a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, a certificate in Project Formulation and International Funding, and a Master's degree in Sustainable Development from Universidade de Brasília.
