Matthew McGee currently serves as Communications Manager for the UN Environment Programme's International Methane Emissions Observatory since August 2023. Previously, Matthew held multiple roles at the Environmental Defense Fund from December 2017 to July 2023, including Communications Manager and Senior Communications Specialist. Experience also includes a position as Policy Analyst for the Texas House of Representatives in early 2017 and a Clean Energy Communications Intern role at the Environmental Defense Fund. At Rice University, Matthew contributed as a Sustainability Communications Intern and also conducted research as a Research Fellow, creating a relational database for historical publications. Additional experience includes a Resource Management Fellow position at NASA Johnson Space Center and an internship with the City of Houston Mayor's Office, focusing on youth engagement initiatives. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rice University and has further educational experience at Leipzig University.
